Willesden Man Charged After Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Deadly Smash on Chapel Close

Horror struck Willesden on Wednesday afternoon when a car careered into pedestrians on Chapel Close. Police were called at 12:44pm on 3 December after reports of the smash.

Tragically, Ruben Nunes, 34, from Peterborough, died instantly at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Driver Arrested and Charged

Officers launched a swift investigation. By Thursday, 4 December, a 29-year-old man from Willesden was in custody. Shakaine Dwyer now faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving.

Dwyer is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 December.

Another Man on Bail as Police Probe Continues

A second man, aged 32, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains on police bail while inquiries go on.
