Snapchat Predator Jailed for Rape of Two Teen Girls
A vile predator who used Snapchat to lure two teenage girls has been locked up for nine years. Himanshu Makwana, 42, was convicted of raping the girls four years apart. The Met Police’s specialist detectives finally brought him to justice at Harrow Crown Court on 6 March 2025.
Double Horror, One Sick Mind
Makwana, from Wembley, posed as a young man on social media to trap his victims. He committed the attacks in eerily similar ways, targeting vulnerable girls online before meeting and assaulting them in isolated spots.
Detective Constable Lewis Jelley said: “Makwana fooled young girls by pretending to be someone he was not. He carried out horrific attacks years apart. Thanks to the bravery of the two young women who came forward, he has been caught and punished.”
How the Crimes Unfolded
- 2019: Makwana chatted up his first victim, aged 18, on Snapchat. After months of messaging, he met her and drove her to an empty office block where he raped her. She reported it, but no suspect was found at the time.
- 2023: Using the fake name “Samir,” he targeted his second victim, newly 16. He tricked her into helping him carry books, locked her in his car, then drove to an empty commercial unit and raped her.
Arrest and Conviction
Makwana was arrested on 27 November 2023, just one day after the second victim reported the crime. A witness snapped his car, helping police track him down. DNA tests then linked him to the 2019 attack too.
He was charged on 22 December 2023 and remanded in custody until trial. Now, he faces nine years behind bars plus four years on extended licence. Makwana will also register as a sex offender for life.
