HMP Thameside in Lockdown After Prisoner Beheaded
Police have launched a murder probe after a horrific incident inside HMP Thameside in Greenwich. A man in his 40s was found dead with a slash wound to his throat in the early hours of Sunday.
Grim Discovery Shocks Prison Staff
Two female guards were first on the scene and have since been offered counselling following the brutal discovery. Wing staff stumbled upon the injured inmate during routine checks and immediately called for help.
Police Confirm Victim Pronounced Dead at Scene
A spokesperson from the MET Police said: “The man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene by the London Ambulance Service. Officers are working to inform his next of kin. Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.”
The prison remains on lockdown as investigations continue into the shocking beheading inside its walls.
