Rottweiler Stabbed in Brutal Attack at Hambleton Stables

Police are hunting suspects after two dogs were viciously attacked at stables in Hambleton. The horror unfolded on Shard Road between 8pm on September 16 and 10am the next day. Officers believe the assault was targeted.

Rocky Left with Horrific Stab Wounds

The main victim, Rocky, a Rottweiler, suffered a seven-inch gash on his side and a four-inch slash across his throat. He was also stabbed in the chest and thigh, broke his jaw, and lost some teeth. Rocky has undergone two surgeries and may need a third to recover.

Second Dog Tia Seriously Injured

Another Rottweiler, Tia, was left so battered she can’t walk on one front leg. Her hips keep giving way, causing ongoing pain. Thankfully, nothing was stolen, but the culprits forced entry by removing a padlock on the stables.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

“This is a brutal and sickening attack on two defenceless dogs which will rightly leave the public appalled,” said PC Stacey Billington of Lancashire Police. “We need to identify those responsible and urge anyone who saw suspicious activity around that time to come forward.”

Police are especially keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area. Contact Lancashire Police at [email protected] or call 101 quoting log 0560 of September 17, 2020.
