Paedophile Posed as Teen Online – Jailed for 10 Years
A disgusting Greater Manchester predator who groomed and sexually assaulted teenage girls by pretending to be a teenager online has been locked up for a decade. Scott Kirkham, from Tameside, used fake profiles to trap his victims before carrying out his vile abuse.
Guilty of 30 Sex Charges
Kirkham, of Hope Street, Audenshaw, pleaded guilty to a staggering 30 offences, including:
- 6 counts of sexual communication with a child
- 10 counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
- 6 counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act
- 5 counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child
- 2 counts of malicious communication
- Sexual assault on a female over 16
Locked Up and Restricted
At Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, Kirkham was handed a 10-year prison sentence. He will serve an additional three years on licence, face an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and must register on the sex offenders’ list for life.
The Complex Safeguarding Team in Tameside, working with multiple police forces, led the investigation that uncovered Kirkham’s sick online grooming ring.
