Woman Stabbed in Reading: Police Launch Witness Appeal
Thames Valley Police are hunting for witnesses after a woman was stabbed in Reading late Sunday night. The victim, a woman in her 40s, was attacked around 11pm on August 16 in Scours Lane and suffered a serious stab wound.
Victim in Hospital with Serious Injuries
The injured woman was rushed to hospital and remains there with serious injuries. Police have since arrested a man in connection with the stabbing.
Man Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge
A 57-year-old local man has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder. Thames Valley Police say the investigation is still in early stages but stress the public is not at further risk.
Police Urge Locals to Come Forward
“I am appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward and assist us with this investigation,” said Detective Inspector Guy Elkins.
“Residents near Scours Lane are urged to share any information that could help. This appears to be an isolated attack with no wider threat to the community.”
