Police Drone Crash Leaves Child Seriously Injured in Sheerness
A Special Inspector has been slapped with a misconduct notice after a police drone accident left a child badly hurt in Sheerness. The drone smashed into an overhead cable and plummeted to the ground, causing severe hand injuries to the youngster.

The child was rushed straight to a London hospital after the shocking crash. At the time, the police drone was on the hunt for a suspect when disaster struck.
Historic Probe Launched Into Police Drone Accident
The crash, which happened around 4pm on 2 August 2025, is the first-ever civilian injury caused by a police drone, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) confirmed. Meanwhile, the Air Accident Investigation Branch has launched a full safety investigation to get to the bottom of the incident.
