Man Dead and Several Injured in Castle Canyke Knife Attack
Deadly Stabbing Shakes Victoria Square
Police rushed to Victoria Square, Castle Canyke Road, at 3.15pm on Sunday 30th April after reports of a violent knife attack. Multiple victims suffered stab wounds in a chaotic scene.
Tragically, 36-year-old Michael Allen from Liskeard died at the scene. Seven others, both men and women, were hurt and rushed to hospital. Five have since been discharged, but two remain in serious condition following surgery.
Suspect Arrested in Murder Probe
Police have swooped on a 24-year-old man from Bodmin, arresting him on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and grievous bodily harm with intent. He is currently being questioned as detectives dig deeper. Authorities have secured an extra 36 hours to crack the case.
Family Mourns, Community Rallies
Michael Allen’s family released a heartfelt statement, calling for privacy while paying tribute to their “much-loved son, brother, grandson, and uncle who loved his dogs.”
The community is banding together in his memory. A tribute site has been set up at Bodmin 1, where locals can leave messages and gather. Officers will be on hand to support those affected, and a hub will operate twice daily for the next week.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Ilona Rosson urged anyone with information or footage to come forward via the Major Incident Public Portal. “Every detail counts. Even the smallest piece of info could be vital,” she said.
