Met Police Officer Charged with Sexual Assault
PC Joe Moloney, a serving officer with Met Operations, has been charged with sexual assault over an alleged incident in Bruce Grove on October 29, 2022. The shocking allegations emerged while Moloney was off-duty, rattling the local community.
Magistrates’ Court Appearance and Bail
On October 17, PC Moloney appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, pleading not guilty. He has been released on bail and is set to appear at Wood Green Crown Court on November 21 for the next stage of the case.
Investigation and Suspension
The case came to light following Moloney’s arrest on November 1, 2022. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) launched an investigation and called for a local inquiry into the claims.
A police spokesperson confirmed PC Moloney is now suspended from duty. The Directorate of Professional Standards has been alerted to ensure proper oversight of the officer’s conduct amid the investigation.
