Toddler Bitten by Dog in Rainham: Woman Charged

A three-year-old girl was bitten by a dog in Rainham last week. Now a woman faces charges over the incident.

Dog Attack Shocks Rainham

Kent Police rushed to Mierscourt Road at around 3:30pm on Tuesday, 17 June, after reports of a dog biting a child. The toddler suffered injuries to her arm and was taken to hospital for treatment. Thankfully, she has since been discharged.

Suspect Arrested and Dog Seized

Following a police investigation, officers arrested a woman on Monday, 23 June. Tracie Inkpen, 50, from Broadview Avenue, was charged with being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury. The dog, believed to be a Cockapoo, was also seized by authorities.

Next Steps in the Case

Ms Inkpen has been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on a later date. Kent Police say inquiries are ongoing.
