Local Crooks Caught: From Racism to Burglaries!
- Michael Banton, 31, from Crofton Park, landed a community order for racially aggravated harassment on November 7, 2023. He must also pay £100 compensation after targeting a man with offensive behaviour.
- David Woodley, 37, of Lewisham, got eight weeks behind bars for flouting a criminal behaviour order and handling stolen goods in Eltham. On September 2, 2024, Woodley was caught with stolen bottles of MOET champagne after failing to produce proof of purchase.
- Volkan Celik, 40, from Sydenham, admitted breaking into The Brockley Barge Wetherspoons on July 28, 2023, to nick alcohol. Celik scored a suspended two-month sentence and must fork out £158 compensation.
- Kirsten Old, 50, from Eltham, threatened to share intimate photos or films and was slapped with a two-year conditional discharge. She’s also ordered to pay £500 and faces a restraining order.
