A man has been charged over a suspected arson attack at a business on 1 High Street.
Early Morning Blaze
The fire broke out between 5am and 5.25am on Tuesday, 26 August 2025. Flames started in a floral display at the shop entrance before spreading to the door frame and signage. Luckily, the fire was quickly put out, preventing further damage.
Man Arrested and Charged
After a swift investigation, police arrested 31-year-old Zygimantas Dranseika, a Lithuanian national with no fixed address, on Thursday, 28 August.
He has been charged with arson and remanded in custody. Dranseika is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 29 August.
