Second Arrest Made in Cobham Services Petrol Station Murder

Police investigating the murder at Cobham Services petrol station on Monday, 26 June, have arrested a second suspect. The chilling killing of 20-year-old Hughie Saunders, aka Quhey, from Essex, remains under intense scrutiny.

Inquest Opens, Then Suspended

The inquest into Hughie’s death opened today at Surrey Coroner’s Court but was quickly suspended. Detectives still want to speak with anyone who was at the petrol station between 3pm and 3.30pm on the day of the murder.

Key Witness in Camouflage Sought

Police have urgently appealed for a man in military-style or camouflage clothing, spotted on CCTV inside the store, to come forward with crucial information. He could hold vital clues to cracking the case.

Suspect Remanded in Custody

Simon Daniel Baker, 22, from Green Lane, Outwood near Redhill, was charged with Hughie’s murder on 3 July. He appeared at the Old Bailey today and has been remanded in custody. Baker is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 13 November 2017.
