Ramsgate Rampage: Shop Windows Smashed in Early Morning Mayhem

Chaos erupted in Ramsgate at dawn on Saturday as a vandal tore through the town, smashing several shop windows. Kent Police acted fast, arresting a suspect and hitting him with multiple charges.

Just after 6am on 31 January 2026, officers scrambled to York Street, Queen Street, King Street, and High Street. Reports flooded in about a spree of window smashing across local businesses, leaving residents stunned and angry.

Dale Percy Arrested for Rampage

Authorities quickly zeroed in on 39-year-old Dale Percy, homeless and without a fixed address. He faces charges of criminal damage to 14 buildings, plus stealing a ladder brace and trying to damage a vehicle.

Justice on the Horizon

Percy was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 February 2026. The town waits anxiously to see if he will finally pay for the early morning havoc.
