Teen Duo to Face Murder Charges After Man Stabbed in Peckham Park

Chilling Attack in Peckham Rye Park

Kalabe Legesse, 29, was tragically stabbed to death while “simply sitting” and “minding his own business” in Peckham Rye Park on December 30. The victim was found by paramedics near the park café off Strakers Road, suffering serious stab wounds. Despite their efforts, he died at the scene.

Two Teenagers Arrested

On January 19, police arrested two teenagers in connection with the killing: 19-year-old Nah’shun Thomas from Bournemouth Road, Peckham, and a 16-year-old boy, whose identity remains protected for legal reasons. Both have been charged with murder.

Court Appearance Set

Thomas and the unnamed 16-year-old are due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court this Saturday to face the charges.

Cause of Death Confirmed

A post-mortem examination revealed Kalabe died from a haemorrhage and a stab wound to the heart. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist police officers.
