Man Jailed After Violent Outburst in Ipswich Café
A 23-year-old man has been locked up following a shocking rampage in an Ipswich café that left two customers bleeding from glass cuts.
Zaker Fadool’s Furious Court Drama
Zaker Fadool lost it at a Portuguese café on Norwich Road after being refused service because he appeared drunk. Furious, he punched a pendant light, smashing it to bits. Flying glass injured two customers, leading to assault and criminal damage charges.
From Leniency to Lock-Up
Back in October, Ipswich Crown Court gave Fadool a chance. The judge delayed sentencing, ordering him to find a place to live and cooperate with probation and Turning Point support services.
But at his January hearing, the court found he had ignored every condition. Homeless, missing appointments, and avoiding support, Fadool’s defiance left the judge no choice.
Recorder Emma Nash said: “I gave you a chance to turn your life around in October. But it seems you’ve done very little, if anything, to improve your situation. This court would rather you were in accommodation and working with probation to address your difficulties. I told you what would happen if you didn’t comply. Now, you face the consequences.”
Fadool was sentenced to 13 weeks in jail. He had already admitted criminal damage, two assaults from June last year, and breaching a community order.
