Tragic Toddler Dies After Head Injury in Putney

Police rushed to a Putney home at 6.06am on 27 August 2019 after paramedics were called to a 15-month-old boy in cardiac arrest. The toddler, later named as Jacob Lennon, was rushed to a west London hospital but was sadly pronounced dead at 7.22am.

Post-Mortem Reveals Fatal Head Injury

A post-mortem at Great Ormond Street Hospital on 29 August confirmed Jacob died from a head injury. The case quickly turned criminal as authorities arrested a man and woman on suspicion of murder.

Murder and Neglect Charges Filed

  • Jake Drummond, 31, with no fixed address, was charged with murder and Section 18 wounding with intent on 2 December.
  • Louise Jane Lennon, 31, of Wandsworth, was charged with child neglect and causing or allowing the death of a child on the same day.

Drummond was remanded in custody and set to appear at Magistrates’ Court on 3 December at 10:00am. Lennon was granted bail but must also appear at the same court and time.
