Tragic Toddler Murder Shakes Putney

Police rushed to a Putney home at 6.06am on 27 August 2019 after paramedics received reports of a toddler in cardiac arrest. The 15-month-old boy, Jacob Lennon, was rushed to a West London hospital but was tragically pronounced dead at 7.22am.

Cause of Death Revealed

A post-mortem at Great Ormond Street Hospital on 29 August confirmed the little boy died from a head injury. A man and woman initially arrested on suspicion of murder were later released on bail.

Murder Charges Laid

On 2 December, 31-year-old Jake Drummond, with no fixed address, was charged with murder and Section 18 wounding with intent. Louise Jane Lennon, 31, from Wandsworth, was charged with child neglect and causing or allowing the death of a child.

Court Dates Set

  • Drummond was remanded in custody and is due in Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 3 December at 10:00am.
  • Lennon was granted bail but must appear at the same court on the same date and time.
