Two Teens Charged Following Fatal Leicester Stabbing

Tragedy in New Parks

Leicester was rocked by a deadly stabbing this Wednesday in New Parks. 18-year-old Codie Bambrick tragically died at the scene on Glazebrook Road. Emergency services rushed to the location shortly after 1:15 p.m., but despite their efforts, Codie succumbed to his injuries.

Three Teens Now Facing Charges

Leicestershire Police revealed on Friday that two 17-year-olds have been charged with Codie’s murder. Due to their age, their identities remain protected. Both also face charges of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to commit violent disorder. They are due in Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, May 25.

A third 17-year-old is charged separately with violent disorder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon in public. He will appear in court alongside the other suspects.

Other Arrests and Investigation Continues

  • A 38-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder linked to the stabbing but have since been released on bail.
  • A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but is now released under investigation.

Police are continuing their inquiries into this shocking crime and urge anyone with information to come forward.

A post-mortem confirmed Codie died from a stab wound. The community mourns a promising young life cut far too short.
