Seven-Strong Gang Targets Delivery Driver in Southampton
Police are hunting witnesses after a brazen attempted robbery of a delivery driver in Southampton.
The scare happened between 6.50pm and 7pm on Saturday, 19 September, at Warren Avenue.
Masked Thugs in Cars and Bikes Surround Victim
A gang of around 7-8 people on two motorbikes and in a black Kia Rio (reg HV59 MJJ) boxed in the driver at a roundabout. The Kia then reversed into him, knocking him and his moped over.
Thankfully, the victim escaped without injury, but his moped took a battering. A quick-thinking passerby stepped in, forcing the gang to flee in their vehicles.
Stolen Kia Rio Linked to Incident
Police revealed the black Kia Rio was stolen on Monday, 14 September, and recovered on Sunday, 20 September in Coxford Road. Officers want to know where the car had been kept during that week.
