Shock attack at Southampton station: Man punched and threatened with bottle in broad daylight

Police are hunting three thugs who launched a random assault on a 21-year-old man at Southampton Central train station. The victim was waiting on the Toys R Us side late at night when the gang moved in.

Violence over valuables — but nothing stolen

The trio punched the man and waved a glass bottle, demanding his belongings. Luckily, he managed to escape without any injuries. Nothing was taken in the terrifying attack, which happened between midnight and 12.30am on July 15.

Suspects described as young, skinny white males

Two attackers are described as white males aged 16 to 20, skinny with light brown hair. Detective Constable Marie Greer said:

“This was a completely unprovoked attack where the victim was simply trying to catch a train home.”

She added: “We want to speak to anyone who saw what happened or knows who these men are.”
