Police hunt witnesses after serious crash in Southampton leaves pedestrian fighting for life.
Crash Rocks Southampton Junction
It was 10.55pm on Thursday, December 15 when disaster struck at the junction of The Avenue and Westwood Road. A black Mercedes CLK200 smashed into a pedestrian as it sped north from Stag Gates.
Pedestrian Hospitalised, Driver Arrested
The victim, a 27-year-old Southampton man, was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries. The driver, a 22-year-old local man, walked away unscathed but has been arrested in connection with the collision.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Sergeant Alex Rawdon-Smith of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Mercedes beforehand should call 101, quoting 44160472996.”
