Family Narrowly Escapes Injury After Dramatic M27 Rollover
A family had a lucky escape after their silver Peugeot 709 rolled over on the busy M27 near Southampton on Sunday evening.
Crash Sparks Chaos on Busy Motorway
The rollover happened just after 4pm on the westbound carriageway, close to Junction 8. The family had spent the day soaking up the sun at local beaches before their trip took a terrifying turn.
Emergency Services Respond Swiftly
South Central Ambulance Service sent three ambulances and rapid response paramedics to the scene. Hampshire Roads Police and Hampshire Fire and Rescue also rushed to help.
Major Delays as Lanes Shut
Police shut the Junction 8 off-slip and two lanes of the M27 near the crash site. Traffic was gridlocked as cones sealed off the area while medics treated the family.
The seven-seater vehicle ended up on its side. Fortunately, the family managed to self-rescue and were later taken to Southampton General Hospital for checks.
