Teen, 17, Dies After Car Flips at Uckfield Petrol Station

A 17-year-old boy has died in a tragic car crash at the Applegreen petrol station in New Town, Uckfield. The grey Audi A3 flipped over at around 5pm on Friday, 14 February.

Catastrophic Crash at Busy Petrol Station

The teenage driver lost control of the car which overturned, but no other vehicles were involved. Emergency services and members of the public rushed to the scene and performed CPR, but sadly the young driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old front-seat passenger from Lewes escaped unharmed.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Detective Sergeant Rosie Newman of Sussex Police said: “Our enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of this tragic incident are ongoing. No other vehicles were involved. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”

She urged anyone who saw the crash or captured footage to contact Sussex Police via email at [email protected] quoting Operation Chineham.

Sussex Police’s Serious Collision Investigations Unit is probing the cause of the crash. Witnesses or anyone with dashcam recordings are urged to come forward to help piece together what happened in this devastating accident.
