Gun Found After Shots Fired at Huyton Car Park
Police recovered a firearm after a dramatic incident in Huyton last night (Tuesday, 18 May). Around 9.30pm, officers were called to reports of a shot fired at a man in the Knowsley Heights car park.
Youths on Bikes Flee Scene
A gang of six youths, all dressed in dark clothes, fled the scene riding pedal bikes towards Liverpool Road. Officers chased a male on a black mountain bike into flats on Reeds Road but failed to find him after setting up a containment.
Firearm and Ammo Discovered, No Injuries Reported
During the search, police located a discarded bag containing a firearm and ammunition on Reeds Road. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
Police Hunt Continues – Community Urged to Help
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Smith warned: “We will not tolerate weapons or those who use them to terrorise our streets. Every firearm we take off the streets makes our communities safer.”
He added: “While a gun has been recovered, our search for the suspects is ongoing. Officers are in the area, speaking to witnesses and following leads. We want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious near Knowsley Heights or Reeds Road.”
