Tragic Death of Four-Year-Old After Being Hit by Bus Outside Margate Hospital
A four-year-old boy has died after being struck by a single-decker bus outside Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (QEQM) Hospital in Margate. The heartbreaking incident has sparked a major police investigation and a public appeal for witnesses.
Fatal Collision Near Hospital Entrance
The tragedy unfolded shortly after 4pm on Thursday, 7 August 2025. The boy had reportedly left the hospital on foot when he was hit by a white single-decker bus on Ramsgate Road, near the entrance to the hospital’s A&E department.
He was rushed straight back into the hospital for emergency treatment but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. Authorities have informed his next of kin.
Police Launch Serious Collision Probe
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has launched a full inquiry. They are urgently appealing for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage to piece together what happened.
“We are urgently seeking information from any witnesses, including passengers on the bus who have not yet come forward,” said a police spokesperson.

Police want to hear from anyone who:
- Saw the collision or events leading up to it
- Was travelling on the bus at the time
- Has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around 4pm
