Man in 40s Left Fighting for Life After Bus Stop Collapse

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a savage stabbing in New Addington, Croydon. Emergency crews rushed to Lodge Lane at 10.50pm on Sunday, February 2, to find a man in his 40s critically injured with severe stab wounds.

Police say the victim staggered from an address in Elmside before collapsing at a bus stop on Lodge Lane. Scotland Yard has confirmed his injuries are life-changing.

Police Plead for Witnesses to Come Forward

The Metropolitan Police have appealed to anyone who saw the stabbing or has any information to get in touch. A spokesperson said:

“Police were called at about 10.50pm on Sunday, February 2, to reports of a man found injured in the road on Lodge Lane in Croydon. The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was suffering from stab injuries and taken to hospital. His condition is life-changing.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on February 4 on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101, quoting CAD 7151/02Feb.”

Local Fear Rising Violence as Residents Speak Out

New Addington locals have expressed growing concern over violent crime spikes. One resident revealed shock that children are stepping over blood trails en route to school.
