A young man, just 20 years old, has been fatally shot in Southwark, sparking a major police investigation. The chilling incident happened on Wednesday, July 10, around 4:45 PM on East Surrey Grove, where a crime scene has been firmly established.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila from the Specialist Crime Command expressed deep sympathy for the victim’s family. He urged anyone who witnessed the shooting or has dash-cam or mobile footage to come forward immediately. “We have just been informed of this tragic development, and our thoughts are with his family. It is vital that anyone with information helps us with this investigation,” he said.

Detective Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, Southwark and Lambeth’s local policing commander, condemned the killing as a “tragic and needless loss of life.” He promised the police would do everything possible to catch those responsible. “My thoughts are with the family as they process this awful news,” he added.
