Swindon man arrested for suspected drink driving after early morning crash

Police swooped in the early hours on Cricklade Road at the Menham Road junction after reports of a collision involving a Ford Focus.
Officers found a man, believed to be in his 40s and local to the area, trying to change a tyre right in the middle of the road.
Drink driving suspicion leads to arrest
The man was promptly arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken to Gablecross custody for questioning.
Wiltshire Police issue stark warning
Roads Policing Unit A/Insp Will Ayres said: “Drink driving is one of the fatal five offences, all of which increase the risk of you being involved in a serious or fatal collision.”
“Over the coming weeks, Wiltshire Police is making road safety an absolute priority through robust enforcement and driver education. Please think carefully about the choices you make before getting behind the wheel of a car.”
