Huge Chemical Factory Blaze in Mold After Explosions

A massive fire ripped through the Synthite chemical factory in Mold, Flintshire today following a series of explosions. Emergency crews, including the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, raced to the scene on Denbigh Road just after 2pm. One person has been injured and taken to hospital.

Workers Evacuated as Smoke Chokes the Area

About 20 workers and contractors were quickly evacuated as thick black smoke poured from the plant. Locals were urged to keep windows and doors shut to avoid inhaling toxic fumes. Mold town councillor Dr Megan Lloyd Hughes praised the “swift and heroic” efforts of emergency teams working to control the chaos.

Road Closures and Ongoing Investigation

North Wales Police shut the busy A541 main road between Dreflan and Black Brook Road after multiple explosions rocked the area. Authorities are now battling to contain the blaze and keep the local community safe. An investigation has been launched to uncover what triggered the devastating fire, with updates expected soon.
