Serious Crash Shuts Down A259 Havant Road in Emsworth
The busy A259 Havant Road in Emsworth has been closed in both directions after a serious collision this Boxing Day evening. Police were called just after 5pm following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a grey Vauxhall Meriva.
Motorcyclist in Critical Condition
The male rider of the motorcycle was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The female car driver escaped unharmed. Emergency crews and collision investigators remain at the scene near the Brookfield Hotel and the BP garage entrance.
Road Closure and Diversions
The road is shut between Selangor Avenue and Record Road as officers work to determine what caused the crash. Drivers are urged to follow diversions, with police aiming to reopen the route by 10.30pm tonight (Monday, December 26).
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We know there were other vehicles in the area at the time,” said Traffic Sergeant Paul White from Whitchurch. “If you saw either vehicle before the collision or witnessed what happened, please get in touch. Your information could be vital.”
