Two Arrested After Man, 34, Stabbed Dead in Tower Hamlets
Detectives have made two arrests after a 34-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Tower Hamlets last Saturday, 15 June. Police are still hunting for witnesses and urge anyone with information to come forward.
Fleeing Suspects Spotted Near Langdon Park
DCI Simon Stancombe from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command said: “Despite the arrests, we want to hear from anyone who saw two men running from the scene on Alton Street. One ran towards the Docklands Light Railway at Langdon Park, the other towards Giraud Street.”
He added: “I believe many people witnessed the attack or its immediate aftermath, and some may have footage on their phones. We urge them to contact us or hand over any videos.”
Details of Arrests and Investigation
- A 33-year-old man was arrested in Victoria just before midnight on 15 June.
- At around 5.30pm on 16 June, a 28-year-old man was also taken into custody.
- Both are held on suspicion of murder at east London police stations.
What Happened at the Scene?
Emergency services were called at 1.58pm on 15 June to reports of an injured man on Alton Street, E14. Police and paramedics arrived swiftly.
The victim, aged 34, had suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2.37pm.
A crime scene remains in place as detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command carry out inquiries. Next of kin are being notified, and a post mortem will be arranged.
