Wild Police Chase Brakes Loose on the A12

A high-speed police chase tore through Leytonstone, East London, causing utter chaos on the busy A12 at around 4:20pm on June 10. The suspect’s reckless driving left motorists stunned and emergency services scrambling.

Maniacal Wrong-Way Driving Caught on Camera

The drama kicked off on Cathall Road when the suspect sped the wrong way around the Green Man roundabout, heading straight into oncoming A12 traffic. A police helicopter tracked the dangerous pursuit from above. In a daring move, a passenger jumped from the speeding car mid-chase, swapped places with the driver, and the vehicle zigzagged wildly through heavy traffic at high speeds. One shocked eyewitness caught the white car weaving madly between lanes on camera.

Crash Ends Chase—Multiple Injuries and Arrest

The chase slammed to a halt near the Green Man roundabout at about 4:40pm when the suspect’s vehicle smashed into a police car. The collision caused heavy damage to both cars and brought traffic to a gridlock. Two officers were injured, one with a suspected fractured arm. The suspect driver and two passengers were taken to hospital as a precaution. A man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in custody.

Met Police Confirm Details of the Incident

“At approximately 16:22hrs on Tuesday, 10 June a pursuit was authorised after a car made off from police on Cathall Road, E11.

“At approximately 16:38hrs, the car collided with a police vehicle on the A12 near the Green Man Roundabout, E11.

“The London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.

“The driver and two passengers of the car were taken to hospital as a precaution. The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

“Two officers were also taken to hospital, one with a suspected fractured arm. Enquiries continue.”
