An 18-year-old teen was stabbed in broad daylight this afternoon in Southend. The victim was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The stabbing happened around 12:45pm near South Avenue and Trinity Road. A police helicopter was scrambled to scour the area, hovering overhead for some time according to flight radar data.
Residents Locked Out Amid Armed Police Presence
Locals say armed officers swarmed the scene. Many were told they couldn’t return to their homes while police carried out their operation.
