Man Dies After Horror M40 Crash Near Bicester
A 30-year-old man from Kent has tragically died following a smash on the M40 this morning (March 5).
Thames Valley Police were called just after 6.10am to a collision between a beige Nissan Qashqai and a white Tesla Model 3, northbound between junctions 8A and 9.
Suspect Arrested Over Fatal Crash
The man died at the scene. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in police custody.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Inspector Gavin Biggs from the Joint Operations Unit said: “The thoughts of all of Thames Valley Police are with his family at this very sad time.”
He added: “If you were driving on the M40 between 6am and 6.15am and saw the crash, please get in touch. We are especially keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage from just before the collision.”
Road Closures and Diversions in Place
The northbound carriageway remains closed and is expected to stay shut until mid-afternoon at the earliest.
- Drivers are diverted off at junction 8 onto the A40 to the Ring Road.
- Northbound traffic can rejoin the M40 at junction 9 via the A34.
