Burglars Foiled in Freshwater Attempt – Police Hunt for Clues!

Police are on the lookout after a botched burglary attempt in Freshwater. Sometime between 6.45pm on Saturday, December 10, and 11.30am the following day, the front door of a house on The Nurseries was damaged – but the crook got no further.

PC Tom Wyld from Newport Police Station urged locals to stay vigilant. “Have you noticed anyone lurking around houses or fiddling with front doors?” he asked. If you have, call 101 and quote reference 44160466475.

PC Wyld reminded residents of the importance of home security, especially during the festive season. “Make sure your doors, garages, and side gates are locked. Use security lights and keep an eye out for your neighbours,” he said.
