Tragic Death of Caring Son in Shard End
Darren Smith, 50, was found with serious head injuries outside shops in Heath Way just after 2.50pm on 15 March. Despite emergency efforts, he was sadly confirmed dead shortly afterwards.

Family Plea for Information
“We as a family are devastated at the loss of our son Darren,” his family said.
“He was a caring man and was loved by all who knew him. He was tragically taken from us and this has left a huge void in our lives.”
“We ask anyone who knows anything or saw anything to please come forward and contact the police.”
“We now wish to be left alone to grieve in private.”
