Two Held After Teen Stabbed in Polegate

Police have arrested two suspects on attempted murder charges following a stabbing in Polegate.

17-Year-Old Victim Seriously Injured but Stable

On Monday night, around 9pm, emergency services raced to Wannock Road after reports of a stabbing. A 17-year-old boy was found with multiple stab wounds. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to hospital. Thankfully, while his injuries are serious, they are not life-threatening.

Suspects in Custody

The two suspects—a 17-year-old from St Leonards and an 18-year-old without a fixed address—were quickly detained by police. Both face charges of attempted murder.

Police Call for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Jess Langlands said the investigation started immediately after the incident, leading to swift arrests. She reassured the public that this looks like an isolated case involving acquaintances, but acknowledged community concerns.

Authorities have launched Operation Hutch and are urging anyone with information or footage—dashcam, doorbell, or surveillance—to contact police on 101.
