Neighbours Spot Break-In, Call Police

Neighbours sprang into action just after 5.45pm yesterday on Marlborough Road. They heard smashing glass and spotted two suspicious characters at a house. The intruders bolted when disturbed, jumping into a car and speeding eastbound on the M4.

Police Hunt Leads to Arrest in Lambeth

Thanks to a sharp vehicle description, the police alerted nearby forces. At around 9pm, Metropolitan Police officers stopped the getaway car in Lambeth and arrested two men on the spot.

Stolen Loot Seized

Inside the vehicle, officers found jewellery, watches, and cash – all believed to be stolen from the burglary.

“We’d like to thank the vigilant neighbours whose quick thinking helped us track down the suspects and recover valuable stolen goods,” said Insp David Tippetts. “Two are in custody at Gablecross, and investigations continue.”
