Stolen Van Smashes Into Lamppost in High-Speed Chase

Police Pursuit Ends in Smash-Up
Officers were alerted to the stolen van early on Thursday, 3 October. When they spotted it, the driver sped off, sparking a dangerous chase through local streets. The pursuit finally ended near London Road, Ore, at about 3.30pm when the van slammed into a lamppost.
Suspects Make Run for It but Caught Fast
Witnesses reported seeing two men dash from the wrecked vehicle. But police were quick on the scene, arresting the suspects—aged 21 and 22—shortly afterwards.
“Police received a report of a stolen vehicle in Hastings at about 10am on October 3. The vehicle was later seen by officers, and crashed near London Road, Ore, at about 3.30pm. Two men aged 21 and 22 decamped but were swiftly arrested on suspicion of offences including dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle. Lucky Escape as Van Wrecked
Thankfully, no one was injured in the smash. The stolen van, however, was badly damaged and has been recovered for a full investigation.
