Naked Man Mystery Sparks Coastguard Rescue Operation
The drama escalated when reports came in of a naked man shouting for help in the sea. Emergency crews sprang into action.
Massive Rescue Effort Launched
The Coastguard, RNLI, and police joined forces in a massive joint operation. The response included three RNLI lifeboats, two Coastguard rescue teams, a rescue helicopter, and multiple police units.
On arrival, officers were tipped off about the naked man spotted in the water yelling for help — but frustratingly, he was never seen leaving the sea.
Stranded Group Rescued, Search Continues
Thankfully, rescuers guided a stranded group to safety using a cliff path, allowing teams to focus on finding the missing man. The search was intense, using parachute flares, searchlights, and airborne tech to scan the shoreline between North Foreland and Walpole Bay for nearly three hours.
Despite no further sightings or missing person reports, the search was eventually called off and rescue units stood down.
RNLI Warns of Tidal Dangers
Lee Button, Deputy Launching Authority of Margate RNLI, praised the rescuers’ efforts. “This could have been a serious mass-casualty incident. We urge beachgoers to stay alert to the dangers of tides cutting people off in this area.”
The coordinated response from coastguard, RNLI, and police showcases how rapid teamwork can save lives in emergency situations.
