A38 Shut Northbound After Car Overturns Between Lichfield and Alrewas

The A38 in Staffordshire is currently closed northbound between the A5127 at Lichfield and the A513 near Alrewas following a crash involving an overturned vehicle. Emergency services, including Staffordshire Police, are on the scene.

Highways England has sent teams to help clear the incident. Drivers should expect delays and plan extra time for their journeys.

Official Diversion Routes in Place

Motorists are advised to follow this clearly marked diversion:

  • At the A38/A5192 junction in Lichfield, leave the A38 and join the A5192 westbound (Cappers Lane).
  • Follow the hollow black square diversion signs along Cappers Lane and Eastern Avenue until reaching the A51 (Stafford Road).
  • Turn north on the A51 to the A515 junction, then take the A515 northbound (Featherbed Lane) to the A513 at King Bromley.
  • Join the A513 eastbound (Alrewas Road) and continue to rejoin the A38 at Alrewas.

Expect disruptions and drive carefully through the diversion.
