Bembridge Lifeboat Races to Rescue Stranded Walkers on Isle of Wight
The Bembridge RNLI lifeboat was launched this lunchtime after a group got trapped by the rising tide on the Isle of Wight. The walkers, stranded near White Cliff Bay, sent desperate calls for help using their mobiles.
Coastguard Joins Lifeboat in Race Against Tide
Bembridge Coastguard Search and Rescue teams quickly joined the lifeboat at the scene. The walkers had been cut off during a coastal hike and were unable to escape the incoming sea.
Rescue Underway – More Updates to Come
The lifeboat launched at 1.27pm to bring the pair to safety. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with updates expected shortly.
