Bike stolen during Canterbury robbery

Kent Police officers are appealing for information into a reported robbery in Canterbury where a bicycle was stolen. At around midday on Monday 20 August 2018 the victim was walking through a park in Stour Street when a man approached him and asked if he could buy his bike, a black and chrome Darley Free Spirit folding bike. The victim, in his 20s, declined and the man walked away, but came back a few moments later, put his hands on the handle bars, threatened him and stole the bicycle. The suspect has been described as white, aged in his 50s and wearing dark jeans and a dark t-shirt. He was with another man and a young girl, who was wearing a pink coat. He was seen cycling out of the park with the stolen bike. Officers are carrying out enquiries and urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has information to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting ZY/049048/18. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers in Kent anonymously on 0800 555111.
