The Body Shop Slumps to £207m Sale Price
The once-iconic British ethical beauty brand, The Body Shop, has been sold for a mere £207 million. That’s a massive plunge from its £880 million valuation just six years ago. Brazilian cosmetics giant Natura, which snapped up the chain in 2017, said the sale was part of a plan to “simplify and refocus its operations.”
Since its founding by Anita Roddick in 1976, The Body Shop has changed hands three times since 2006. The brand’s loyal fans have often bemoaned its sale to L’Oréal that year and later transfer to Natura, fearing the loss of its original ethical values.
UK Wages Beat Inflation but Job Market Wobbles
