Fire Shuts Croydon A&E in Shock Closure

Croydon University Hospital’s A&E is out of action after a fire broke out earlier today (Sunday, March 5). The emergency department remains closed as crews tackle the aftermath.

No Injuries Reported, A&E to Reopen Soon

The hospital confirmed the blaze at 7.03pm, assuring the public that no one was hurt. They promised to reopen the vital department as soon as possible.

What Patients Should Do Now

In the meantime, anyone needing urgent medical help is advised to call NHS 111. Croydon Health Services NHS Trust took to Twitter to update:

“Our A&E is currently closed due to an earlier fire. We are pleased to confirm that all of our patients and staff are safe, and we will reopen soon thanks to the quick work of London Fire Brigade (@LondonFire), but please contact #NHS111 if you require urgent or emergency care.
