Serious Crash Shuts Rainham Road South – Long Delays and Road Closures

A major accident has brought chaos to the A1112 Rainham Road South, forcing a full closure in both directions between Crown Street and Sandown Avenue. Traffic is at a standstill as congestion builds and diversions are in place.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5.40am today (10 September) after reports of a serious collision in Rainham Road South, Dagenham. Two ambulance crews and a paramedic in a fast response car attended. One patient was treated on-site and rushed to a major trauma centre as a priority. Two other patients were assessed and discharged at the scene.”

Pedestrian Injured, Fire Brigade Provides Aid

The London Fire Brigade arrived shortly after being called at 5.46am. They confirmed the crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. Firefighters were actually returning from another job when they spotted the incident. They gave emergency care to the pedestrian and treated two others before handing all patients over to ambulance crews.

Road Closure and Traffic Chaos Continue

As of 9.24am, Rainham Road remains closed from Bull Roundabout to Reede Road due to ongoing police investigations. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible and check for updates before travelling.
