Essex Cops Clamp Down on Mask Refusers and Rule Breakers
Police in Essex are out in force, cracking down on crooks and COVID rule breakers alike. Officers are patrolling hotspots to keep you safe and ensure social distancing, mask-wearing, and the Rule of Six are being followed.
Extra Patrols at Busy Lakeside Shopping Centre
Following reports of shop staff facing abuse from mask refusers, extra officers have been deployed at the intu Lakeside shopping centre. Their mission: to back up shopkeepers and enforce the law.
Chief Inspector Melton Sounds the Alarm
“We’ve had extra patrols in town centres and shopping areas every day,” said Chief Inspector Richard Melton. “Shopkeepers trying to enforce mask rules have faced abuse from some members of the public. The expectation is simple: everyone must do the right thing and follow the law.”
“We urge the people of Essex to keep complying so we can focus on policing crime, not policing the pandemic. Thank you.”
Thank You, Essex – Keep Up the Good Work
It’s been tough, but Essex communities have shown outstanding compassion and resilience during these challenging times. The police thank you for your continued support as they work round the clock to keep everyone safe.
