A fire has erupted at the Lakeside Shopping Centre in West Thurrock, sending flames and thick smoke billowing from a multi-storey car park near the bus station.

The Essex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire broke out on Level 5 of the car park but insisted no vehicles were involved in the blaze. Crews from Brentwood, Grays, and Corringham are currently tackling the fire.
“There is a fire in the multi-storey car park on Level 5. No vehicles are involved. Crews from Brentwood, Grays, and Corringham are attending,” said Essex Fire and Rescue Service.
