Three People Trapped After Car Hits Flood Water

Emergency services rushed to the A3 southbound near Liphook Services just after 1:40pm today. A vehicle had veered off the road and ended up on its side after hitting floodwater and crashing into an embankment.

Firefighters Battle Foul Weather in Two-Hour Rescue

Fire crews from Cosham, Greyshot, Petersfield, and Waterlooville arrived with a Cosham rescue support unit. Using specialist cutting gear, firefighters braved harsh conditions to free a trapped woman. The complex extrication took over two hours.

Two Taken to Hospital as Vehicle Recovered

Three people were in the car. Paramedics from South Central Ambulance treated two passengers at the scene, while the third was trapped inside and had to be cut free. Two of the injured were rushed to hospital.

Once freed, the fire service secured the vehicle. Recovery required a specialist Hiab Crane from JD Motors to haul the car out of the tree line.
